The disease is seen to affect various people across the world. This disease is mainly caused due to the invasion of bacterium named Staphylococcus, into the skin that slowly starts to spread all through the soft tissues of the skin below.

The infection of Cellulitis can occur in any part of our body, but is still seen to be more commonly occurring in the skin of the legs, especially in the shin bone and the foot region. Apart from these general places, the infection can also occur in certain places after surgeries or wounds such as the arms, neck, head, abdomen, chest, etc. The infection can also occur in the abdominal areas of people suffering from morbid obesity.

Symptoms:

The infection mainly begins in a small area causing mild tenderness, redness along with some swelling. As the redness increases and spreads in the surrounding areas, the infection causes fever in the patient. Many a times, the patient may also suffer from chills and sweats caused due to the infection. Patients with the infection also suffer from swollen lymph nodes in the affected region.

The infection also causes the sudden drainage of yellow fluid or pus from the skin blisters which are caused due to the infection.

Once you notice these basic symptoms, you should not be late to get medical help so as to get completely cured from the infection. However, it is suggestible to take immediate medical help with certain intense symptoms like vomiting or the numbness in the affected region.

Diagnosis:

Diagnosing the disease is extremely easy and is usually diagnosed based on the previous medical history and certain physical examinations. These methods include:

Blood test is performed when the infection is believed to have spread even into the bloodstream.

X-ray of the affected region also discloses the presence of a foreign particle in the body just below the skin.

Also a medical test may be performed by simply drawing the fluid from the affected regions.

Treatment:

Treating the disease is easy but requires a lot of personal care along with the given medications.

Give rest to your affected area of the body. This will help you decrease the problems.

Keep the infected area elevated so as to reduce the irritation or the discomfort caused by the infection.

Increase your hygiene and take the given doses of pain relievers which will help you ease the pain and also lower the fever.

Thus, take care of your health well and also maintain a good hygiene to ensure a better health by preventing the occurrence of the infection.
