Kidney stones are the painful disorder where the stones are formed in the kidney or urinary tract due to formation and deposition of crystals of calcium oxalate, uric acid, calcium phosphate and cystine. This happens when a particular substance in the urine exceeds its solubility. Sometimes due to dehydration, these salts don’t get dissolved and crystallization takes place. These stones vary in size from grit, sand, and gravel-like impediment to the size of a bird’s egg.
